TN Engg counselling for general category from Sept 10 as scheduled

The counselling was earlier planned to begin on August 25, but it was temporarily postponed due to the delay in the announcement of NEET results.

CHENNAI: According to a Daily Thanthi report, the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE) on Sunday informed that the counselling for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) for general category students will be held from September 10 as per schedule.

The counselling was earlier planned to begin on August 25, but it was temporarily postponed due to the delay in the announcement of NEET results. On 28th August, the Higher Education Department announced that counseling for general category will be held from September 10.

Earlier, there were 1,48,811 seats available for undergraduate courses in 431 engineering colleges under Anna University. The counselling for engineering admissions began on August 20. In the first phase, counselling was conducted for the special category consisting wards of ex-servicemen, differently-abled persons, and sportspersons. Of these, 668 students were allotted seats.
