Gender reveal controversy: Tamil Nadu Health Department accepts YouTuber Irfan's apology; drops legal action

After reviewing Irfan's apology and considering the context, the Tamil Nadu Health Department decided not to pursue legal action against him.

CHENNAI: The state health department has accepted the explanation given by Youtuber Irfan regarding the gender reveal ceremony organised by him in Chennai. The officials from the state health department said that Irfan's explanation is satisfactory.

The response has been submitted to the Union Health Ministry as determining the gender of the unborn child is illegal under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act in 1994. The state health department had sent a notice to the Youtuber seeking explanation for conducting the gender reveal function. He had also issued an apology and taken down the gender reveal video from his YouTube channel.

His response has been sent to the Union Health Ministry by the state health department and the steps will be taken to educate people on the process of conducting gender reveal in foreign countries. Youtuber Irfan has also told the health department officials that he will publish a long explanation and awareness video regarding the announcement of the gender of his unborn child.
