CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin's two-day field inspection and official functions scheduled to be held at Villupuram from November 28 have been cancelled following heavy rain alert to the district.
A revised media brief issued by the State government Tuesday afternoon informed of the development. The decision was taken after the CM's review meeting with the Collectors of six Delta districts, which had received a forecast for very heavy rainfall. Owing to the weather forecast, the State government functions and field inspections scheduled to be chaired by the Chief Minister there on November 28 and 29 have been cancelled, the government issued a statement.
Chief Minister Stalin has been undertaking a district-wise review of the delivery of welfare schemes and projects implemented by his government since early this month. Launching the programme from Coimbatore in the first week of November, Stalin went on to hold reviews at Virudhunagar, Perambalur and Ariyalur districts as well. A similar two-day meeting, with senior bureaucrats, in the districts along with the CM review of departments’s performance, was planned in Villupuram from Thursday.
