CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary and former CM Edappadi K Palaniswami will meet senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on April 26, sources in the AIADMK said.
The meeting assumes significance as the two NDA allies have been engaged in a bitter political feud in the past couple of months. BJP state president K Annamalai had come out against the Dravidian major after the latter ‘poached’ some of the saffron party’s second-rung leaders, leading to a tough positioning from the AIADMK.
Senior leader D Jayakumar had earlier said that the final decision on the alliance clearly rested with the AIADMK. He also stated that allocation of seats for 2024 Lok Sabha polls in NDA, Tamil Nadu would be decided by the AIADMK as it was heading the front.
On Wednesday, Palaniswami had announced party candidate for one seat to Karnataka assembly polls where BJP is also contesting.
