The case involved the abduction of a youth by a hired gang over his brother’s love marriage

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has revoked the suspension of ADGP HM Jayaram, who was implicated in a kidnapping case in Tiruvallur. His official posting, however, remains undecided. The officer is scheduled to retire in May this year.

The case involved the abduction of a youth by a hired gang over his brother’s love marriage. During the investigation, links emerged connecting the kidnapping to KV Kuppam MLA ‘Poovai’ M Jagan Moorthy and ADGP Jayaram.

Based on a court order, Jayaram was taken into custody and was subsequently suspended by the State government in June last year. The charges alleged he provided logistical support for the abduction. A departmental inquiry was initiated and has been ongoing. Following this inquiry, the government has now withdrawn the suspension order.
