Police arrests former manager of Actress Gautami connection with land grab case

CHENNAI: The Kancheepuram Crime Branch police arrested the former manager of Actress Gautami in connection with her land grab case on Monday.

Azhagappan (64), a resident of Velachery, was working as a manager of the actress Gautami a few years ago.

During that time Azhagappan had created forged documents and sold 45 acres of land in Thiruvalur valued at 25 crores that belonged to Gautami and her brother Srikanth.

Gautami filed a complaint with the Crime Branch police and the police filed a case against Azhagappan, his wife Nachiyal, and Sathish Kumar, Aarthi, Baskaran and Ramesh Shankar under seven sections in last November.

The police formed three special teams to capture the six accused who were missing and on Monday night the special team arrested Azhagappan in his house in Velacherry.

They interrogated him and later he was remanded in judicial custody and sent to prison.

Earlier the police had already arrested Balaraman, a relator linked to the case.
