Don't disturb shops open at night on Deepavali eve: DGP tells cops

The order added that shops and establishments with more than 10 employees may operate 24 hours a day.

CHENNAI: Director General of Tamil Nadu police, C. Sylendra Babu has issued an order to the police department not to disturb the employees and owners of shops which are open at night on the occasion of Deepavali.

The order added that shops and establishments with more than 10 employees may operate 24 hours a day.

Meanwhile, with just 4 days left for the festival, public were seen thronging T Nagar for buying clothes, jewelry, and household items. Sales are rampant in places like Purasaiwalkam, Padi, Chromepet, and Tondiarpet. Additional police security and vigilance have been intensified in crowded places.
