PM Modi’s Chennai visit: Traffic diversions for commercial, heavy vehicles on Sunday

Vehicles coming from Pallavaram will be diverted at International Airport Junction (Hotel Airway) towards Tambaram.

CHENNAI: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Chennai on Sunday (Oct 11), the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) have made traffic diversion arrangements for commercial and heavy vehicles at various locations in Chennai from 8 am to 4.30 pm to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety.

The diversions are as follows:

From Tambaram: Vehicles will be diverted at Tiruneermalai Junction towards Kundrathur Road.

From Pallavaram: Vehicles will be diverted at International Airport Junction (Hotel Airway) towards Tambaram.

From Jawaharlal Nehru 100 Feet Road towards Kathipara Bridge: Vehicles will be diverted at Ashok Nagar 2nd Avenue towards Koyambedu or KK Nagar.

From Ashok Pillar: Vehicles will be diverted at CIPET Junction towards Guindy Industrial Estate.

From Mount Poonamallee Road towards Kathipara Bridge: Vehicles will be diverted at Porur Toll Plaza towards Maduravoyal.

From Mount Poonamallee Road: Vehicles will be diverted at Ramapuram Junction towards Arasamaram Junction.

From OMR and Sardar Patel Road: Vehicles will be diverted at Gandhimandapam Junction towards CPT.

From Gandhimandapam Salai: Vehicles will be diverted at Gandhimandapam Junction towards CPT.

From Velachery Main Road towards Sardar Patel Road: Vehicles will be diverted at Guru Nanak Junction towards Velachery.

From Anna Salai: Vehicles will be diverted at MC Raja U-turn towards Anna Salai and allowed to proceed to their respective destinations.

The GCTP has urged the public, motorists and transport operators to cooperate with traffic police, follow the prescribed diversion routes and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the period.
