Chennai: Gold surges by Rs 1,280 on April 14, 2026; check how much it costs

CHENNAI: A day after a fall of Rs 320 per sovereign (8 grams),  gold has now increased by Rs 1,280 on April 14.

The yellow metal is now priced at Rs 1,13,760 per sovereign and 14,220 per gram, an increase of Rs 160.

On April 13, gold was priced at Rs 1,12,480 per sovereign and Rs  14,060 per gram

Silver prices increase

Silver prices increased by Rs 5 to sell for Rs 265 per gram (Rs 2,65,000 per kg) on April 14. On April 13, it was priced at Rs 260 per gram.

Gold rate today vs gold rate on this day, last year

Gold remains significantly higher compared to last year. Prices have surged from Rs 70,040 per sovereign (Rs 8,755 per gram) on April 14, 2025, to Rs 1,13,760 per sovereign (Rs 14,220 per gram) on April 14, 2026, marking an increase of Rs 43,720 or about 62.42%.
