Embroiled by the council election stalement in the High Court, the activities of Vishal-led Producers council came to a standstill.

Veteran director Bharathiraja being concerned about the film industry's rough patch due to Covid-19 crisis formed a new Producers council to help the industry recover.

'This isn't a splinter group nor am I willing to break the existing council. But in this crisis period we are the ones who should heal the industry's ailings' said the Sigappu Rojakkal director. The member enrolment has begun right away.
