Delta flight takes off from Atlanta despite complaint of poop-smeared seat

For Matthew Meehan, a Delta passenger, flight 1949 from Atlanta was the perhaps worst nightmare one could imagine while flying – sitting in a sea of poop inside an aircraft. While the crew told him the faeces was that of a German shepherd, the gate agent told in his paperwork it was of an old man who fell sick on landing. “It was all over the backs of my leg, it’s all over the floor, all over the wall of the plane,” he said. Further, when he complained to the agent, he was told, “It’s almost time for that plane to leave. You can sit in your seat or you can be left behind.” Later, a Delta spokesperson said that the plane has been taken out of service, was cleaned and disinfected. Moreover, Meehan was offered a refund for his ticket, and his shoes and suit, which were soiled by the faeces. However, he told reporters it was too late and that he was talking to his lawyers.
