Sand sculpture Santa stuns viewers

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik has yet again come up with a beautiful sand sculpture. He has built what is believed to be the world’s tallest Santa Claus

Built at a height of 45 feet with wet sand, the sculpture also bears the message of world peace. Made with over 1,000 tonnes of sand and coloured sand in some places, the sculpture had 20 people working on it for 22 hours. On display at Puri Beach in Odisha, the sculpture will be on display till January 1. A Padma Shri awardee, Pattnaik has established The Golden Sand Art Institute, which is first of its kind in India. His sculptures have been on topics relating to environmental crisis, famous festivals, national integrity and religious tolerance. His most famous work is the Black Taj Mahal.
