Youth stabbed to death at Tasmac outlet in Thanjavur, 1 held

TIRUCHY: A youth was stabbed to death after an altercation while buying liquor at a Tasmac outlet in Thanjavur on Sunday night, and police arrested the culprit on Monday.

Vijay (25) from Koodalur in Thanjavur, a history-sheeter, went to buy liquor at Manakarambai near Nadukaveri. While he was buying liquor, Arunkumar (28), also a history-sheeter from Nadukaveri, also visited the outlet.

Miffed by the crowd, the two got into an altercation. Suddenly, Arunkumar broke a liquor bottle and stabbed Vijay multiple times, the latter falling unconscious.

Nadukaveri police rushed to the spot and sent Vijay to the Thanjavur Medical College hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries. Police arrested Arunkumar on Monday.
