Thiruchirapalli
Members from DYFI gathered at Bose Nagar road which has been in a dilapidated condition and they had even submitted a petition with the District Collector demanding to repair the road.
The agitating youth claimed that the government was keen on helping the private firms to collect higher toll from the vehicle users but failed to maintain the roads.
They said that they would then stage protest across the State and would take it as a movement. They demanded to maintain the roads immediately.
On information, Revenue officials and the police rushed to the spot and held talks with the agitating youth.
Later, talks were held on Tuesday and the officials assured the youth that the repair works on the road would begin on September 5.
Subsequently, the youth ended the protest and claimed it to be temporary.
