Won’t use jobseekers’ Aadhaar for any other purpose: TNPSC

The Aadhaar data of jobseekers will not be used for any other purposes other than for the examinations it conducts, assured the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) on Friday. The statement came after several candidates failed to produce these details that are required for the one-time registration.

After many scams surfaced, the commission announced several changes in examination process to ensure transparency, including making Aadhaar mandatory to check impersonation. Under this, it is mandatory for candidates to provide Aadhaar details during the one-time registration, said officials.

Unlike the previous method of providing candidates the option to choose exam centres during enrollment, now the commission would choose the district and exam centre. A senior official added that soon after the exams, the list of selected candidates would be made public to ensure transparency. However, the candidates would be asked to come in person to submit documents during certificate verification and counselling.
