TIRUCHY: Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin on Thursday said that women are brand ambassadors of the DMK government, as several schemes have been introduced to uplift them.

He said that women would certainly campaign for DMK, which would return to power again.

He unveiled the statue of former Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at Sengipatti in Thanjavur.

Udhayanidhi Stalin said that the statue of Karunanidhi has been opened across the State to carry forward his principles and achievements. Karunanidhi was the tool behind several women-centric projects in Tamil Nadu, he said. He was the person who secured women's rights, including the right to property.

“In the same vein, the Chief Minister MK Stalin has been ruling the state and executing several welfare schemes for the women”, Udhayanidhi said.

Pointing out that there are just two months left for the Assembly polls, Udhayanidhi appealed to women to work for the party, saying the DMK would certainly return to power again and compete with its own achievements.

He added that the other states laud Tamil Nadu for prioritising women's development, and so he appealed to women to campaign for the DMK in the upcoming Assembly polls.
