Woman splashes cow dung on poster of Modi, BJP supporters protest

Police said that following Modi's birthday, BJP supporters organised a slapping planting ceremony in Tambaram and posters were pasted in Mullai Nagar and surrounding areas in Tambaram.

CHENNAI: Tension prevailed in Tambaram after a woman splashed cow dung on Prime Minister Modi's face on a wall poster on Monday.

Police said that following Modi's birthday, BJP supporters organised a slapping planting ceremony in Tambaram and posters were pasted in Mullai Nagar and surrounding areas in Tambaram.

On Monday night, BJP supporters noticed cow dung was splashed on the faces of Modi, L Murugan and Annamalai in the poster.

Soon, the supporters who gathered on the Tambaram-Mudichur Road staged a protest and demanded to arrest the person who disrespected their party leaders.

The Tambaram police team that visited the spot held peace talks and promised to take action against the people who are behind it. Later, the police on browsing the CCTV, found it was a woman who was involved.

The police have registered a case and are trying to identify the woman.
