CHENNAI: A woman has conned a father and son from Nagapattinam of Rs 15 lakh, promising that their money would multiply if a special ritual (prayer) was performed.

According to the media reports, the woman convinced the father-son duo by claiming that if a specific pooja was performed, their money would multiply like offspring.

Trusting her words, the father and son gave her Rs 15 lakh, said the reports.

Upon realising they had been cheated, the duo approached the Director General of Police (DGP) office in the city to file a formal complaint, seeking to recover their lost money.
