With just 64 new cases in Chennai, Covid count dips in TN

Chennai had 64 new cases and Chengalpattu had 21 cases.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 253 new cases on Tuesday. Total number of cases in the State crossed 35.89 lakh. Chennai had 64 new cases and Chengalpattu had 21 cases. TN’s test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 2.4% after 10,727 samples were tested in the past 24 hours. The highest TPR of 4.6% was reported in Krishnagiri. Active cases in the State stood at 4,026 with the highest in Chennai – 2,098 active cases. A total of 301 people were discharged. Total recoveries exceeded 35.47 lakh. No new COVID fatality was reported in the past 24 hours. Death toll remains at 38,048.
