“It has been 32 days since the state government passed a Bill providing 7.5 percentage for government school students in NEET, but so far, the Governor had not given consent for the Bill. The delay is not natural but intentional,” said Ramadoss, in a tweet.

After there were complaints that government school students were underrepresented in medical colleges due to NEET, state government appointed Justice P Kalaiyarasan Commission to study the scenario. The Commission after careful analysis submitted its report to the state government where it also recommended 10 percentage reservation for government school students in NEET.

Ramadoss asked that if a Governor could prevent the Bills of the state government from becoming Acts what is the purpose of an elected government. “State should immediately answer whether there is democracy or rule of Governor in Tamil Nadu,” asked Ramadoss.
