Welfare board for church employees soon: Minister

Addressing the participants of Platinum jubilee of CSI church, the minister said, Dravidian Model government ensures equality to all and the Chief Minister MK Stalin is very particular about this. The Christian Minority institutions assure education for all and so the minority welfare ministry has been established through which several welfare schemes are executed.

TIRUCHY: Chief Minister MK Stalin has been initiating steps to establish a welfare board for the employees of Churches, said the minister for Minority Welfare Gingee KS Masthan here on Saturday.

Addressing the participants of Platinum jubilee of CSI church, the minister said, Dravidian Model government ensures equality to all and the Chief Minister MK Stalin is very particular about this. The Christian Minority institutions assure education for all and so the minority welfare ministry has been established through which several welfare schemes are executed.

Stating that the Chief Minister MK Stalin has been assuring security to the minorities, the minister said that the CM has been initiating steps to establish a welfare board for the Church employees. The CM also has asked the respective district administrations to allot land for cemeteries.

Meanwhile, a fund of Rs 6 crore has been allocated for the renovation of old churches irrespective of the villages while a subsidy of Rs 60,000 to those who visit holy lands like Jerusalem has been given to the devotees.

While addressing the minister KN Nehru said, the DMK government is always supporting the minorities. The Chief Minister is very particular to reach the reservation, welfare schemes and other projects to the minorities, the minister said.

Earlier Platinum jubilee pillar was inaugurated while the ministers distributed mementos to the persons who worked for the development of CSI churches.
