'We fully trust the CM': Kallakurichi schoolgirl’s mother

CHENNAI: Parents of a Class 12 student who died in Kallakurichi met Chief Minister MK Stalin at the Secretariat and submitted a petition demanding justice for her death and speeding up the investigation of the case.

The student's mother, then met with the reporters. She continued to claim, "We fully trust the Chief Minister. He has promised to punish the offenders.”

The girl of Kaniyamoor Private School near Chinnasalem, Kallakurichi District, died mysteriously on July 13. After widespread protest, the State government ordered investigation in the case by the CB-CID, and the investigation is under way.

The initial post-mortem examination iwas completed on July 14. The student's parents filed a lawsuit at the Madras High Court claiming that they were not satisfied with the post-mortem examination and demanded a re-examination with the participation of their own physician.
