Vinayaga idol goes missing from pandal, found broken

A check of CCTV footage, revealed three bike borne persons removing the statue from the pandal. Based on a complaint by BJP Vellore secretary P Logesh Kumar, a case was registered.

VELLORE: A missing Ganesh idol installed in Gudiyattam town was found with broken and damaged parts some distance away and it created a flutter on Wednesday. Hindu Munnani and BJP cadres installed an 8 feet high idol at the junction of Anna and Mannandi streets for the 27th year on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning the statue was missing from the pandal and was found some 30 feet away with its right hand broken and the trunk and belly damaged. Gudiyattam DSP Ramamurthy conducted investigations. A check of CCTV footage, revealed three bike borne persons removing the statue from the pandal. Based on a complaint by BJP Vellore secretary P Logesh Kumar, a case was registered.
