CHENNAI: Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay on Tuesday enacted the viral hand-slashing gesture of predecessor MK Stalin to mock the opposition DMK.

Pointing to empty opposition benches following a walkout, Vijay sought Speaker JCD Prabhakar’s permission before replicating the gesture, which Stalin originally used in March to signal a successful Congress pact. The Treasury benches cheered as Vijay sharply added that the devil should not speak about evil, leaving the Speaker amused.
