CHENNAI: Actor and Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay departed from Chennai International Airport this morning on a private jet for Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The three-day visit is to attend the grand audio launch of his final film Jana Nayagan, directed by H Vinoth and scored by Anirudh Ravichander. The event, combined with the 'Thalapathy Thiruvizha' tribute concert, is set for December 27 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, expecting around 80,000-90,000 fans.
Vijay travelled with Anirudh, his assistant, and about 10 film crew members. He is scheduled to return on December 28 evening.
At the airport, Anirudh told reporters: "I'm excited for the Jana Nayagan audio launch. Around 80,000 people are expected. This is Vijay sir's last film; fans will love our songs."
Media waited at Gate 6 but Vijay entered via Gate 9, waving briefly to fans before proceeding.
While primarily a film event, TVK general secretary N Anand flew to Kuala Lumpur last night commercially, and election campaign secretary Adhav Arjuna travelled to Delhi today.
Jana Nayagan, touted as Vijay's cinematic farewell before full-time politics, releases on Pongal, January 9, 2026.
Directed by H Vinoth, 'Jana Nayagan' boasts a powerful ensemble cast featuring Bobby Deol, Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, and Gautham Vasudev Menon.
Produced by Venkat K Narayana under KVN Productions.
