CHENNAI: Indian Railway has announced a 3% discount on unreserved ticket bookings made through the RailOne mobile application, as part of efforts to push digital ticketing.

The discount will apply to unreserved tickets booked using digital payment modes such as UPI, debit cards, credit cards and net banking on the RailOne app. The scheme will be in force from January 14 to July 14 (6 months).

For passengers using the app, RailOne functions as an all-in-one platform allowing passengers to book reserved, unreserved and platform tickets, while also providing access to services such as live train status, PNR tracking, coach and platform information, food ordering and grievance redressal. The existing 3% cashback benefit for those who book through R-wallet will continue without any change, the railway noted.
