Unlock measures: EPS set to meet officials today

With the next phase of lockdown ending in a few days, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is expected to hold a meeting with District Collectors and health experts on Saturday to discuss further unlock measures.

Reopening of schools and permission for social/political gatherings remain the most awaited measures, besides increase in theatre capacity.

“The government might increase the occupancy rate in movie theatres from 50 to 75% based on theatre owners’ demands,” an official said. Meanwhile, Palaniswami also thanked the Supreme Court for announcing holiday for court during Pongal holidays. The Tamil Nadu government bagged the awards for the best governed state for the third straight year. It also won an award for maximum number of transplantations performed pan India.
