Two special trains from Chennai for Vinayaka Chaturthi

A Chennai Central–Podanur special will leave Chennai Central at 11.50 pm on September 11 and reach Podanur at 9 am the following day.

CHENNAI: The Southern Railway will operate two special trains from Chennai to Podanur and Tenkasi to handle the passenger rush during the Vinayaka Chaturthi festival.

A Chennai Central–Podanur special will leave Chennai Central at 11.50 pm on September 11 and reach Podanur at 9 am the following day.

The return service will leave Podanur at 11.30 pm on September 14 and reach Chennai Central at 9.25 am

Another special train will connect Tambaram with Tenkasi. It will leave Tambaram at 7.30 pm on September 11 and reach Tenkasi at 6.15 am on September 12.

The return service will originate from Sengottai at 3 pm on September 14 and reach Tambaram at 3.20 am the next day.

The Tambaram–Tenkasi special will stop at Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Vriddhachalam, Ariyalur, Srirangam, Tiruchy, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Srivilliputhur, Rajapalayam, Sankarankovil and Kadayanallur, besides Tenkasi.

Both services will operate one trip in each direction. Advance reservation will open at 8 am on September 10.
