Two new districts Tenkasi, Chengalpattu formed in State

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Thursday announced the formation of two new districts, Tenkasi and Chengalpattu by bifurcating Tirunelveli and Kancheepuram districts.

In another significant move, EPS also announced Rs 50 crore package to develop the Villupuram district marking the centenary celebrations of Villupuram corporation established in 1988. He also announced that a new scheme “the Chief Minister Special Grievance Redressal Scheme” will be implemented in August-September. 

An official team will visit every ward and village on a particular day before the end of August and address complaints at the grassroots level.
