Two Group-I staff get IAS promotion

Though the IAS posts are primarily filled through direct recruitment, officers are also inducted from State services based on seniority and merit.

CHENNAI: (BUREAU) Two Group I officers have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) cadre.

According to an order issued by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), F Abdul Razick, Additional director of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, and V Nallasivan, additional inspector general in the Registration Department, have been elevated to the IAS cadre.

Though the IAS posts are primarily filled through direct recruitment, officers are also inducted from State services based on seniority and merit.

Accordingly, Abdul Razick and Nallasivan have been promoted to the Indian Administrative Service against the 2024 select list and allocated to the Tamil Nadu cadre.

Both officers belong to the Group I services. While Abdul Razick has been serving in the Rural Development and also as a Personal Assistant to Minister I Periyasamy. Nallasivan has been working in the Registration Department.
