CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will host its first-ever Tamil Nadu Tourism Investment Conclave to attract investments of over Rs 20,000 crore.

A senior TTDC official, seeking anonymity, said the conclave will be hosted in February 2026 in Chennai or near the city to bring together stakeholders and highlight investment opportunities.

The official said major focus areas will include eco-tourism hubs, cruise terminals and theme parks, with significant participation expected from both the public and private sectors.

For the public sector, marketing initiatives will be undertaken at the destination level to attract tourists and showcase Tamil Nadu's unique offerings. In the private sector, efforts will focus on developing new and innovative tourism products and experiences to cater to the diverse interests of visitors.

Following the conclave, a one-stop clearance portal will be launched for private sector projects. "A guidance facilitation mechanism will be put in place to support the submission of documents, enable communication between applicants and authorities, monitor application status and ensure time-bound disposal," the official told DT Next.

The agency will tie up with a high-tech event management firm to provide end-to-end exhibition and conference infrastructure, including pavilions, thematic zones, stages and audio-visual systems, ensuring safety and a high-quality delegate experience.

Plans also include cultural programmes, branding and communication assets, along with roadshows, parallel events and on-ground activations to enhance outreach, visibility and stakeholder engagement.
