TNEA: Third round of engineering counselling begins

CHENNAI: The third and penultimate round of counselling for students seeking engineering seats in Tamil Nadu commenced on Thursday morning with more than 49,000 candidates expected to participate in the admission process.

As the third round of counselling has started, the provisional list of the students, who participated in the second round was released by the Directorate of Technical Education (DOTE), which conducts Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA-2022).

"The third round of counselling started at 10 am with students, who secured rank from 45,578 to 94,620 will be participating,” a senior official from DOTE told DT Next.

Stating that a total of 49,042 students will be participating in the third round of counselling, the DOTE official said, "Another 13,504 students, who were in the waitlist during the previous two rounds, will also join this session.”

Pointing out that the last date will be October 15 for students, who will be participating in the third round of counselling, to fill the choice of colleges and courses, he said: “The tentative allotment for this round will be released on October 16.”

The official said the final provisional allotment for the third round will be declared on October 29 and on the same date the fourth and final round of counselling will begin. During the fourth round, students, who secured ranks from 9,4621 to 1,56,278, will participate.

According to the official, the tentative allotment for the fourth round will be made on November 1 and the final provisional list will be declared on November 13.
