TN leaders condemn tying of saffron cloth on Anna statue

Leaders of different political parties in Tamil Nadu on Thursday condemned the tying up of saffron cloth on the iron railings of the statue of late DMK Chief Minister C N Annadurai by some unidentified miscreants in Kuzhithurai in Kanyakumari district.

The DMK president M K Stalin, PMK founder S Ramadoss and MDMK general secretary Vaiko condemned the act and demanded the state government to take strong action against those who did this.

According to Stalin, those who do not have an identity of their own are showing their anger at late leaders.

Tension prevailed in the area where the statue was located with cadres belonging to DMK and MDMK gathered at the spot and demanded action against the miscreants.

Apart from the saffron cloth, waste items like dried flowers, old bulbs were found on the pedestal which were removed.
