TN Governor Ravi unveils Kambar statue at Lok Bhavan

CHENNAI: Governor R N Ravi on Thursday unveiled a full-length statue of ‘Kavichakravarthi’ Kambar at the Lok Bhavan campus here, paying homage to the medieval poet whose Kamba Ramayanam remains a cornerstone of Tamil literary heritage.

Unveiling the statue at the Kambar Vanam and offering floral tributes, the Governor said Kambar’s work reflected the civilisational depth of Tamil and its enduring human values.

Lok Bhavan said the installation symbolised the Governor’s personal commitment to celebrating classical Tamil scholarship.

Representatives of Kambar Kazhagams from across the State, Tamil scholars, Kamba Ramayanam commentators, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan representatives, and students attended the event.
