TIRUCHY: The relatives of the DMK town panchayat council member who was murdered by a nine-member gang refused to accept the body and staged a protest in Tiruchy on Wednesday, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits.

A day after the body of Ranjith Kumar (40), Koothappar Town Panchayat Council member from DMK, was taken to the Tiruchy GH for post-mortem, the family members attempted to stage a protest in the GH premises demanding immediate action.

The police held talks with the agitating members. However, they went out of the GH and attempted to block the vehicle movement.
