MADURAI: Three persons, including a couple, were killed in an accident at ‘Company Pirivu’ between Ghat Road and Kodaikanal Road in Theni district. An autorickshaw collided with a vehicle and overturned at around 9.30 p.m. on Tuesday. The victims — V Kamalakannan (69) of Parameswari Nagar, Adayar, Chennai and his wife Chandrika (65) — were travelling in the auto and succumbed to injuries on the spot. P Arul Kumar (35) of Genguvarpatti, the auto driver, died on way to hospital. Earlier, the couple landed at the Ghat Road from Chennai and were proceeding to a resort at G Kallupatti village. Based on a complaint by O Palanichamy (61), father of Arul Kumar, Devadanapatti police filed a case under Sections 279, 337 and 304 (A) of IPC, sources said.
