Three held with country made guns in forest area in Salem

During a routine patrol, a team of forest department staff found three persons moving around with country made guns in Kadayampatti forest area.

Coimbatore: Three persons, who went into the forest area to poach wild animals, were arrested and three country made guns were seized from them in Salem on Sunday.

During a routine patrol, a team of forest department staff found three persons moving around with country made guns in Kadayampatti forest area.

Inquiries with the trio, identified as Pushparaj, 60, Navaneethan, 36 and Murugan, 52 from different parts of Salem, revealed that they had ventured into the forest area to poach wild animals.

They were arrested by the forest department and further inquiries are on to know if they were involved in any such previous offences.
