Tenkasi witnesses 74 cm rain within 10 days of SW monsoon

According to officials, the highest rainfall of 24.6 cm was recorded in the Gundar area of Sengottai.

TENKASI: The Tenkasi district has recorded 74 cm within 10 days after the onset of the Southwest monsoon.

As a result of the rainfall, water inflow into several streams and waterfalls across the district has increased significantly, leading to a rapid rise in the water levels.

According to officials, the highest rainfall of 24.6 cm was recorded in the Gundar area of Sengottai.

The water levels in all five major dams in the district have risen considerably, bringing cheer to farmers.
