Tenkasi: 2 dies as bus hits bike in Alangulam

A case has been registered and the bus driver, identified as Chellathurai from Marudhapuram, was secured for inquiry

TENKASI: Two men died after a private bus hit their motorcycle near Alangulam in Tenkasi district on Friday, police said. The deceased were identified as Prakash (32), a lorry driver from Nettur, and Karthik (35), who ran a fast-food shop in Nagercoil.

Both were returning to their native place for Panguni Uthiram festival. Police said the two friends were on a two-wheeler going home when the accident occurred near Nettur Vilakku.

The bus coming in the opposite directions hit the two-wheeler killing both riders on the spot. On information, police led by SI Subash Chandra Bose shifted the bodies to Tirunelveli GMCH for postmortem.

A case has been registered and the bus driver, identified as Chellathurai from Marudhapuram, was secured for inquiry. Prakash is survived by his wife Isakkiammal (25), a son and a daughter.

Karthik is survived by his wife Shanmuga Rani (32), a son and a daughter.
