The Thanjavur Collector B Priyanka Pankajam had recently convened a meeting ahead of Kharif Marketing Season 2025-26 with the TNSCS and the staff involved in procurement and asked them to ensure transparency and work dedicatedly all along the season for the welfare of the farmer. “There are complaints that the outside traders, duping themselves as farmers, approach the DPCs and beware of them, and we will initiate legal action," the Collector-in-charge said in an official communication.
Thiyagarajan said that as many as 483 DPCs have been opened by the TNCSC, Thanjavur region, and 19,185 MT of paddy has been procured so far, and an amount of Rs 48.48 crore has been credited to the accounts of as many as 4,218 farmers.
“If the outsiders and traders approach the DPCs, the farmers and the DPC staff can raise a complaint by contacting 94437 32305 and a toll-free number 18005993540,” Thiyagarajan stressed.
Meanwhile, in Tiruvarur, as many as 298 DPCs have been opened for the procurement of samba. The District Collector V Mohanachandran appealed to the farmers to approach the concerned DPCs with proper documents, including Aadhaar, bank account details and the land documents.
“The farmers would be informed about the date and time, and they can approach the DPCs accordingly to avoid unusual waiting time,” the Collector said.
The Collector also said that the farmers can approach the TNCSC officials for any clarification and complaints at any time to ensure a smooth procurement process.
