CHENNAI:The State government’s official release said that the Dravidian model government under the leadership of Chief Minister M K Stalin steered Tamil Nadu out of the COVID crisis and firmly placed TN on the path of development with unwavering commitment.
The release added that the State demonstrated the Dravidian model government's sustainable and inclusive growth and emerged as a frontrunner in economic and industrial growth.
The DMK regime, in the last four years, signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with 897 firms across India and abroad and attracted investments worth over Rs 10.27 lakh crore, generating 32 lakh employment opportunities, according to the release. The State's economic growth is at 9.69%, and the doubling of exports from 26.15 billion US dollars in 2020–2021 to 52.07 billion US dollars in 2024–2025 stands as testimony to the government's consistent efforts in setting a national benchmark, according to a statement issued by the government.
Chennai has been rated one of the safest cities for working women, the release said citing reports. In addition, Tamil Nadu has surpassed Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, with Chennai recording a 24.5% growth rate and hosting 94,121 skill development centres, reinforcing the State's commitment to inclusive and future-ready progress.
The statement also highlighted the socio-economic progress achieved through flagship programmes such as 'Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam', 'Illam Thedi Kalvi', and 'Naan Mudhalvan', which helped increase the State's higher education enrolment ratio to 51.3% that is nearly double the national average.
TN continues to lead in social development indicators and employment generation, while also securing the top position in electronics exports. The statement added that CM Stalin's effective governance over the past four years has ensured stability and peace, with no major caste-related conflicts or industrial unrest reported, the release said.
