Tamil Nadu Govt Relaxes Norms For Social Gathering

Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu had further relaxed the prevailing SOPs for social gatherings, which will come into effect from 19th December.

The government, in its attempt to further relax lockdown norms, had announced that the prevailing Standard Operating Procedures for social gatherings will be relaxed further. The CM of Tamil Nadu Edappadi Palaniswami took his official twitter handle and shared the announcement.

As per the announcement, religious congregations, social, political meets, entertainment and cultural events, symposiums, other conventions, processions, etc will now on be permitted with 50pc capacity and the basic SOPs on place. Also, the organisers of the meeting are expected to get prior permission from the District Collector and if the meeting is to be held within Greater Chennai limits, a permission from Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai is mandatory. The orders will come into effect from 19th December, 2020.

Meanwhile, the chief minister further requested the public to adhere to the SOP and contain the spread of COVID-19.
