Tamil Nadu's first registered third-gender marriage

Transgender Sreeja and youth Arunkumar's marriage becomes the first registered marriage in Tamil Nadu.

Sreeja a transgender and youth Arunkumar of Tuticorin, tied the knot on October 31, 2018. But, registering their marriage online, was faced with technical glitches and legal constraints.

After the order to facilitate the registering of marriage by Madras High Court's Madurai Bench, the couple registered their marriage at the Tuticorin Sub-Registrar office. This marriage has set the record of being the first ever transgender marriage registered in Tamil Nadu.
