Tamil Nadu: Ex-DGPs Jiwal, Kumar quit post-retirement roles

CHENNAI: Former DGPs Shankar Jiwal and Sunil Kumar, the retired officers who were given key posts under the previous DMK government, resigned on Wednesday, sources said.

Jiwal, who was the head of Tamil Nadu Police, was the chairman of the newly constituted Fire Service Commission. Kumar, who retired in 2024, had been serving as chairman of the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board since August 2024.
