Tamil Nadu: 24 rural employment scheme workers injured in beetle attack in Tiruchy

TIRUCHY: As many as 24 workers under the rural employment scheme, VB G RAM G, were injured in a beetle attack at Manapparai in Tiruchy on Wednesday. They are undergoing treatment

As many as 117 beneficiaries of the VB G RAM G scheme were engaged in tank work at Ponnampatti village near Manapparai on Wednesday.

All of a sudden, a swarm of beetles surrounded them, much to their shock. They took to their heels for refuge, but the beetle stung as many as 24 workers, who sustained injuries.

They were rushed to Thuvarankurichi GH, where they have been undergoing treatment. The doctors said that they are out of danger.
