Tamil Nadu: 15 hurt in illegal manjuvirattu

As it was conducted without permission, Village Administrative Officer Barkees Banu filed a complaint with Tirukoshtiyur police.

CHENNAI: Around 15 persons were injured by bulls during an unauthorised manjuvirattu at Pattamangalam near Tirupattur in Sivaganga district

The event was held as part of the Panguni festival with the participation of over 150 bulls.

As it was conducted without permission, Village Administrative Officer Barkees Banu filed a complaint with Tirukoshtiyur police.

Based on the complaint, police registered a case against 5 persons: Senthilvel, Muthazhagu, Arumugam, Ganesan, and Muniyayya. Further inquiry is under way.
