Tamil is a must in UG courses: TN Higher Education Ministry

This notification comes after complaints of Tamil not being taught in some institutions getting raised.

CHENNAI: The Higher Education Ministry of Tamil Nadu has issued a notification mandating Tamil as a subject in the UG courses.

The notification states that with exception of Anna University and Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Tamil must be taught in the second semester of every undergraduate course in other universities.

The Ministry has come out with this notification following complaints that some colleges and universities aren't teaching Tamil.
