Surge continues in city with 105 new Covid-19 cases

Chennai tops the list with 105 new cases. Chengalpattu and Coimbatore had 49 and 46 new cases respectively, while 27 cases were reported in Kanyakumari.

CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu recorded 537 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday. Total number exceeded 35.81 lakh. Chennai tops the list with 105 new cases. Chengalpattu and Coimbatore had 49 and 46 new cases respectively, while 27 cases were reported in Kanyakumari.

As many as 5,472 active cases are present in the State, of which 2,395 cases are in Chennai. After 15,298 samples were tested, Ranipet recorded the highest of 6.5% TPR. Chennai recorded only 3.4% TPR. Over 500 people were discharged across the State. Recoveries exceeded 35.37 lakh. No new COVID fatality was reported in the past 24 hours. Death toll remained at 38,046.
