State enters unlock mode

Tamil Nadu will see a new normal from Tuesday after the State government offered a wide range of relaxations to the lockdown that has been in force since March 24.

A day after announcing the decision to relax the conditions, the authorities issued a detailed standard operating procedure (SOP) for places of worship, public parks and film shooting 

PLACES OF WORSHIP

  • Those above 65 years, children under the age of 10 and people with comorbidities are restricted
  •  Devotees should compulsorily wear masks
  •  Devotees should not touch idols 
  • Temple administration should provide hand sanitisers for all devotees while entering 
  • Social distancing should be followed when devotees stand in queues
  •  Priests should refrain direct contact while giving holy ash to devotees
  •  Masks discarded by devotees should be disposed of carefully 
  • Temples with two entrances should mark one for entry and the other for exit. Remaining entrances should be closed 

FOR PUBLIC PARKS

  • Public should be allowed only after thermal scanning
  • Spitting inside and outside the parks is strictly prohibited
  • Sales of snacks and fast food inside the park should not be allowed
  • Public should follow social distancing during morning and evening walks
  • Community volunteers from the volunteers can be engaged to monitor social distancing
