Stalin inaugurates sports facility worth Rs 15.60 cr

According to a Daily Thanthi report, a 400 metre synthetic track built at a cost of Rs 7 crore at Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University campus located at Melakottaiyur in Chengalpattu district

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M K Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated Rs 15.60 crore worth sports facilities, including multi-purpose gymnasium, artificial tracks and residential quarters for teachers at Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University.

Among the sports facilities inaugurated by the Chief Minister are a 400-meter-long artificial track worth Rs 7 crore, a multi-purpose gymnasium for Rs 5.10 crore and residential quarters for teachers constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 crore on the complex of Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University.

State sports and youth welfare minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, chief secretary V Iraianbu and state youth welfare secretary Atulya Misra were present during the inauguration of the facilities at the state secretariat this morning.

PWD minister reviews Tamil Nadu House construction

Earlier in the day, state PWD minister EV Velu held a review meeting in connection with the complete demolition of Vaigai Tamil Nadu house and construction of a new buildings on Kautalya Marg at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi.

A release issued by the State government said that no objection certificate has been obtained from the Delhi Development Authority, Delhi fire department and airport authority and a detailed project report was being prepared by the State PWD department for the construction of a new Vaigai Tamil Nadu house in the national capital.
